The World God Created
Where did the world come from? - It's an innocent question often posed by young children, and yet it is a question which most adults, if they were honest, find difficult to answer. Yet if we bother to open the Bible, the very first book, Genesis, begins with the words.....
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". (Genesis 1:1)
The Bible tells us simply that it was the Lord God who created the world, and was the source of all life.
However it is not fashionable to believe that God created the world, because science tells us that life evolved.
But that is not true; science does not tell us that life evolved, because evolution is only a theory. A theory produced by man to explain how different life forms came into existence, in a way that does not need to acknowledge an all powerful creator.
Yet when we look around us at the different animals, plants and birds, or look up on a starlit night and see the countless stars before our eyes, can we really believe that all this happened by chance? Surely more faith is needed to believe the scientist's theories and speculations, than is required to accept God's clear statement.....
I have made the earth and created man upon it; I even my hands have stretched out the heavens, and all the hosts have I commanded". (Isaiah 45:12)
Rather than denying that God created the world, because such a statement does not fit in with our theories, let us echo the words of the man who, when the wonder of God's works finally dawned on him, said.....
"Surely I spoke of things I did not understand. Things too wonderful for me to know".
