Jesus Christ Will Save The Environment
It is not difficult to imagine how beautiful the natural world was before man intervened. With unspoiled forests, pure air to breathe, clear waters in lakes and seas, and the welfare of all life free from the threat of filthy pollution. The world as God created it, must have been exceedingly beautiful. We read in the Bible that it was "very good", and "full of the goodness of the Lord".
But in his quest for riches, and for better and better material possessions, man has ravaged the earth's natural resources, and poured out his industrial effluents onto the land, and into the sea and sky. Drastic measures will be needed to put things right, and urgent action is being taken in some areas. But is it a case of too little too late? Some think it is and tend to despair.
Armed with belief in God, and his Word as revealed in the Bible, there is no need for despair. The age we live in, when man despairs about the state of the world and its future, was clearly foretold by Jesus. In Luke chapter 21, Jesus speaks of a time when we will be frightened and anxious about the world's future. Thankfully, he also tells us that when the world is in this state, the establishment of the kingdom of God on earth is about to happen.
When our present world circumstances are coupled with this Bible prophecy, we can live in hope, not despair. Jesus is the only person who can put the world right, and God has promised that he will do so. In setting up a just and righteous kingdom, he will purge the earth of evil and greed. It will be restored to its former glory.
But won't man just mess it up again? No, for the people who will eventually live in that blemish-free world will be different. Ultimately, they will be people who have pleased God during their lives on the earth as we now know it - by following His rules for life set out in the Bible. They will be people approved by Jesus. People made immortal as a reward for their faithfulness. Perfect people in a perfect world. What a glorious prospect.
The Bible tells you all about it.
When confronted by some sort of change in our lives, it is not uncommon to ask, or at least think; "What's in it for me?" Will it raise or lower my standard of living? Will my quality of life improve or deteriorate?". The most drastic change ever likely to affect our lives and the world we live in will happen when Jesus Christ returns to set up God's kingdom. Yes, Jesus is coming back, perhaps much sooner than we all expect.
But when confronted by this fact, a typical reaction is more likely to be, "So what?", than, "What's in it for me?". Why is this? Well it's because most people know little or nothing about God and His Son Jesus, nor His plan for man upon the earth.
Confronted with a surgeon's offer of life or death, knowing that he can cure at little or no risk, most, if not all of us, would choose the life-saving operation. This is because we KNOW that surgery can be successful in many cases these days. What many of us don't know, is that when Jesus returns, he will have the power to give good quality, everlasting life, in a perfect world. At no risk! He will give it to those who have chosen to follow him during their mortal lives in the way God has laid down in His book The Bible.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoseoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3 v 16)
Jesus is coming back! What's in it for you?
If you ignore the fact - death!
If you are truly ready for his return - everlasting life!
It really is up to you to find out more.
