Who Can Predict The Future? - God Can
Who knows what tomorrow will bring? We would all like to know what the future holds, but it remains a closed book to us. Repeatedly the predictive techniques which we so ingeniously devise are proved to be ill founded.
Of course in some fields immense computing power has resulted in more accurate predictions. But weathermen now recognise that weather systems are so complex that they can be affected by very small factors which dramatically alter outcomes. At least with weather we are dealing with something which sometimes follows a pattern.
Not like people, whose behaviour can be totally unpredictable. This makes political forecasting impossible. Who would have predicted, for example, the break-up of the Soviet Union, which seemed to happen overnight? Who could have forecast that the Jewish people, after being almost destroyed in World War 2, would once more establish the State of Israel?
The answer is, God could.
As regards the state of Israel, God did in fact predict it - two and a half thousand years ago; in the Bible you can read of it in the prophecy of Ezekiel. We know that these words are not a forgery, faked after the event, in an attempt to prove God right.
God knows the future. In the prophet Isaiah's time, He challenged the false gods of his day to tell the future: "Let them", He said, "tell us what shall happen: let them show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods."
Of course the other gods failed. Only the true Living God can foretell the future, because the Bible says, "He declares the end from the beginning".
This being so, how does it affect you? Well God, whose word has proved accurate in the past, speaks in the Bible of things that are yet in the future. You can read His words for yourself.
