World Suffering

There's no doubt that a lot of people are greatly troubled by the amount of suffering in the world.

Many, unable to face the situation, say: "I don't want to hear about it". They hope that if they shut their minds to it, the problem will go away.

But it won't, of course. Every day, we can't avoid hearing about wars, disease, pain, famine, sorrow and death - either in the news, or among our friends, or even in our own family.

People often ask: "Doesn't God care?"

Yes, He DOES care. It was no desire of His that the world He created should be full of suffering. Suffering and death were brought into the world by man himself, who instead of doing what God told him, chose instead to assert his own self-will; and we must admit that much of the suffering in the world - although not all - is caused by man's treatment of man.

But however caring some men and women ~, they can't solve THIS problem. The solution lies only in GOD'S hands.

In His book, the Bible, God holds out to us the wonderful prospect - on this earth - of a world system entirely changed from that of today. There will be no more war, no more famine, no more disease. The broken-hearted will be comforted. Children will play in safety.

Finally, there'll be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, for God will eventually wipe away all tears.

What unimaginable JOY, to be granted a place in such a world! - THE WORLD TO COME.
