The Christadelphians And What They Believe
All Christian bodies stand for something and we, The Christadelphians,
do take a stand for the things we believe to be true. We are a lay group of
Bible believers. We believe in the divine inspiration of both Old and New
Testaments of the Bible. (2 Timothy Ch.3 v 16-17). We believe that the Bible
teaches clearly that there is one God; that Jesus Christ is His only begotten
Son, and the Holy Spirit is His power.
We believe the Bible teaches that man is mortal and sinful due to the sin of
Adam and Eve, and due to the nature we inherited from them. (Romans Ch.5 v 12).
We believe the Bible teaches that the only way we can overcome sin and death is
through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ which culminated in his death on the
cross as a sacrifice for our sins. (Colossians Ch.1 v 14). We believe the
Bible teaches that God will one day send Jesus back to this earth to establish
His Kingdom and bring in an age of everlasting joy, righteousness and peace.
(Isaiah Ch.2 v 4).
We believe the Bible teaches the need for faith in God and Jesus, the need for
baptism to receive forgiveness of sins, (Mark Ch.l6 v 16) and the need for us to
dedicate our lives to God's service, seeking to overcome the tendencies of our
nature and do His will.
We believe the Bible teaches that at Christ's return, there will be a
resurrection and judgement of responsible people, and those found worthy, will
at that time receive eternal life; the unworthy, though, will receive eternal
death in the grave.
The name "Christadelphian", from the Greek, literally means "brethren In
Christ", and is a scriptural term found in Colossians Ch.l v 2.
